About Us

We are a student-run charity (registered by OSCR as MFIN (MedAID for International Need) Scottish Charity number: SC039991) that collects unwanted medical equipment from large teaching hospitals, checks its viability and sends the equipment out to developing countries where resources are severely limited. We are based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, from where hundreds of medical elective students and humanitarian health workers travel to developing countries every year, and help to dispatch the equipment straight to the healthcare settings that need it the most.

If you would like to get involved with MedAID, you will be very welcome! Just go to the Contact Us page to reach us via email or drop us a message at Facebook.

On the other hand, if you are not in Edinburgh and would like to help with setting up your own local MedAID, please contact medaid.charity@gmail.com.

We would like to encourage you to get to know our society - our vision and mission - as well as to get in touch, sign up and be a part of our charity.

Happy browsing and we look forward to hearing from you!
